Lions

In the short film; "Lions" whereby the film is in coloured in black and white portrays a middle age man, about the age of 50 wearing, with silver white hair as he is beckoned and is trying to run away as the valley hills surround him, this therefore giving a natural feel to the movie as it is based in a country side setting. As the main character of the film is a man whom is fairly old, during the short film, his facial expressions and body language defiantly suggest that he is in an uncomfortable situation as his facial expression is in shock horror, this becomes dominant as the chalk drawings come to life and surround him in a cocoon type of way. Camera techniques in which are used and bring the film together in order to create a memorable film is the use of animation in which chalk is used in a number of ways to add emphasis into what is actually happening in that given moment. For example when the man is in the house and the animation ties him together. This therefore gives a feel of natural and animated balance as in the given moment both are executed well to accompany that given situation. The use of music in this case lyrics being use in a chant are used to accompany the middle aged man's journey of events, as this goes together very well as it suits what is going on. As the short film is in black and white, much of the lighting is used is mainly shadowing as is then adds much of a gloomy effect and goes well together with the series of events in which are occurring.
