Red - the colour red relates to this treatment as red is a strong colour which give off a high mysterious energy. Red is a combination of mixed emotions which Alan is going trough as he is trying to fish out missing answers from his childhood.

TREATMENT/SYNOPSIS:

My idea for my film is based on the story of an adult who takes a trip down memory lane where he encounters strange activities. This is mainly based on the drawings  he drew as a child. The main character Dave is a successful business man who lives in the busy city, London. He has been promoted recently and is travelling back to his home village to visit his family and celebrate the good news with them. Although he hasn’t spoken or seen his parents in a few years, he takes this opportunity as the perfect way to make it a surprise visit. As he is travelling to his village from the city where he currently lives ,  he starts looks upon the changes that have occurred. As he arrives at his old house, he senses an airiness that he has never felt before. It is a strange and very uncomfortable feeling. His natural instinct tells him that this is wrong, but he decides to brush it off and continue on his journey to meet his family. As he approaches his childhood house another car drives in the opposite direction, both drivers make eye contact. The passengers in the opposing car were all dressed in a dark mysterious blue cloaks with an unwelcoming glare in their eyes. From this encounter Alan was stunned by what had happened. In that short moment in which he had eye contact with the opposing driver he notices a few elements that do not sit right with him. A brightly coloured toy in which he could recognise, but he couldn't remember why this had looked so familiar to him. A sail boat in which his father used to row when he was younger. As he approached his parents beautiful town house. Confusion, anger and horror had overwhelmed his body. WHAT HAD HAPPENED?! The front yard had been pulled apart, the front ornaments were literally shattered into pieces. The more steps Alan took towards his now not so beautiful house he notices that there are a lot of scattered newspapers that have been ripped up. As he continues to walk he picks up a piece of the newspaper that had been ripped up. Too his surprise it resembles a familiar drawing. Although the edges had been torn slightly, but he could still make out what the drawing was. It was surprisingly similar to the one that he had recently seen in the car, instead as an animated object. As Alan finally gets to his door which is normally wedged tight. To his surprise the door is wide open. He is welcomed with a horrible stench of a smell. Alan then shouts for his parents “MUM, DAD?” no reply… A sudden movement is made in the house. As he notices the figments that resemble his parents he approaches them. They turn away. Wondering on how he is going to communicate with them, Alan decides to show them the picture that he had found. The woman breaks down in an agonising cry. Trying to comfort the woman Alan goes over to hug her. The male glares at him. As Alan stood there shocked, emotions raced through him. He just wanted to know answers, from the family wearing all black cloaks in the blistering Arizona weather, to the toy in the back seat of the car that resembled his childhood picture that he had drawn just over 30 years ago, to the now shattered loving home that he had grown up in, to his parents shying away from reality.
Alan needs answers.

And he needs to know NOW.
