Similarly to film two, film four was also black and white throughout the beginning, the character seemed to be unhappy. The non - diegetic sound was stopped and then replaced by diegetic sound of a phone call, the shots used also complimented the sound as whilst the character was making the phone call , the camera then shows us a close-up of the phone allowing us to identify its significance. the phone call left the character lifeless, the black and white says to the audience that the character has no hope, she is lifeless and unloved. Mid -shots were mainly used which emphasised the body language and facial expression of the character. As the character finds colour she also finds happiness. The meaning and concept behind colour portrays happiness and love. Film two also shows that colour is appreciated in different cultures, this could mean a message for people of no colour to accept and appreciate people of colour. The colours presented in this film are then followed by meaning and description, which adds significance to colour.
Film three can be compared to both film two and film 4, the first shot is an over the shoulder shot of the character drawing graffiti on a colourful wall, her boy language suggest she's scared and worried due to the fact that she shouldn't be there. The character has colourful hair and colourful tattoos, unlike everybody else she stands out as everybody else looks dull and colourless. Just like film two, film 4 is also a combination of diegetic and non - diegetic sounds; the music becomes louder and much more mysterious. However, unlike the other films happiness is not found through colour, it's the opposite - colour brings about death.
